WHY JOIN STEP?
We will help you find a suitable employee
Your company is socially responsible
You will give a young person a chance to change their life
HOW DOES THE COOPERATION WORK?
Finding the right young person
The STEP programme counsellor will select a candidate who meets the company´s expectations and contact the prospective employer.
*A young person joins the STEP voluntarily. This means that only those, who have decided that they wish to improve their lives but may experience difficulties finding a job will join the programme.
Applying for the job
If you currently have vacancies, the counsellor will tell you about the specific young person's background (work experience, offences, etc.). Additional documents such as a job application, CV, background information and the counsellor's assessment of the candidate will also be provided upon request.
Job interview
If the company is interested in hiring the candidate, they will arrange an interview with the candidate. If the young person wishes, a STEP counsellor will attend the meeting.
Signing an employment contract
If, after the interview, you feel that the young person is a good fit for your company, you can agree on either a trial day or a start date and sign a regular employment contract.
Starting work
We strongly recommend that a mentor be assigned to the young person. This helps to ensure that they stay in the job for longer. We offer mentors free mentoring training.
STEP support for business and young people
STEP staff support the company and the mentor when the young person starts working and up to 6 months thereafter.
